Why I Changed My Instagram Handle

You guys!! We’ve got some big news happening over here. I feel like I’ve been reborn with the change in my instagram name, and I am here to tell you why I made the switch.

If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you may have noticed a little change this weekend. I changed my name from @stylehuntblog to @emiilyfogarty. WOAH Y’ALL. I have to say, the decision was pretty easy, as part of me is an extremely impulsive person when I want to be. But the truth is, I’ve been thinking about making the switch for a while and I’ll tell y’all why.

It is no secret I have been struggling lately with my blog identity, finding the motivation to keep this baby alive and produce great content for y’all. It has nothing to do with my wanting to do it, I absolutely LOVE my little space on the internet, interacting with y’all and sharing my thoughts on all things fashion, beauty and overall life happenings.

But, I was feeling disconnected. And I think something as simple as changing my name back to my “real” name may just do the trick. Now I feel less like I’m “selling” things to y’all and people judging my IG handle by it having the word “blog” and people can just see me as a person, which is obvi what I am. I am just a gal, looking at a much of peeps on IG, asking them to hang out with me and chat fashion + beauty + life.

This may sound completely ridiculous, I mean it kind of is, we are literally talking about an IG handle name, but I already feel more authentic and like myself. Which is THE BEST feeling when you’ve been feeling the complete opposite.

So with all that said, I hope y’all will join me in my new, more personal take on social + the blog this year. I’d love to hear what you’d like to see more of in 2018 or just any thoughts y’all might have. I love chatting with you + thank each and every one of y’all who takes time out of your day to read my rants.

1. You look stunning in these photos, I LOVE this look!
2. Totally agree with you! When I rebranded, I made the choice to use my name instead of my blog name. I wanted people to know who I was instead of being known as my blog name. It just felt like the best decision and so far I’m loving it!

    1. You are the sweetest friend.
    2. I feel the exact same way. I was just losing myself and in turn losing all motivation to continue. I am hoping I continue to feel this happy about the decision!
    3. I don’t know if I have told you, but I am OBSESSED with your rebrand and so proud of you!!

I have been feeling majorly disconnected and uninterested in anything blog/insta related. It’s hard to get motivated when so much is changing. I love the new handle!!
