Literally can’t get over this outfit. The moment I wore it, I knew one of my blogger biffs would be so proud, if you haven’t taken a look at my gal Laura’s IG (@louellareese) you will see the girl has a thing for blue. I knew this look would be right up her alley, what can I say….my blogger friends are some of my favorite people to get style ideas from!
The OTS trend is literally one of my favorite trends this summer & this one takes the cake for the most over-the-top top! And that it is under $20 just makes it that much better. I’ve already worn it three times, with white denim and these wedges for a night out, with denim shorts and gladiators for a friends baby shower and with these printed shorts!
I have to tell y’all, as much as I LOVE this top now, I was skeptical about taking the plunge and ordering it. Being a petite girl, the fact that the ruffles were so oversized & the top is on the longer side, figuring out if it was going to be flattering was a gamble. However, one of my tricks to making a trend like this work is to pair it with a sky-high pair of shoes. Or making sure you balance out your look. If you’re going to wear it with flats, wearing a more fitted bottom is the way to go. Keeping it simple as far as accessories go is also the way to make the statement top work.
For this look, knowing that the top and shorts are both oversized, pairing them with giant wedges makes the legs look longer, thus balancing it all out. It really does all come down to playing with proportions when you’re trying to mix it up with trends.
I seriously can’t get enough of this look. I had to say it again. #sorrynotsorry
