Mother’s Day is fast approaching & this year I really wanted to reflect on my relationship with my mom. Our family is definitely not the overly lovey family. Of course, we care about each other immensely & love each other but it is always more of an understood thing. There are no people more important to me than my dad, sister & of course, my mom. I’ve teamed up with Fashion & Compassion to share how I’ve learned beauty & dignity from my own mom.
You see, my mother is a boss. Literally she is a baller. If you know us, you know that we bond over fashion. She is the first person I call when I’m trying to make a fashion decision & we frequently send each other photos of our findings at the mall, to get each other’s opinions before we buy. I speak to my mom on the daily, some times more than once. She is my go-to for all kinds of advice. While we LOVE fashion & finding our outer beauty, she has also been the one pushing me to find my inner beauty. By empowering me to be the best version of myself, I learned to be the independent chick I am today. I don’t know if she realizes, the real reason I am who I am, has a lot to do with how she is. She is an amazing mom, always going over the top for everything, whether is was birthdays (I had a mall scavenger hunt one year that she made every clue), to Christmas, my sister & I’s wrapping paper matches our personality each year y’all.
When it comes to mom’s, I’ve literally hit the jackpot, with beauty & dignity being shown to me every day.
I hope y’all are okay with me getting a little bit mushy on today’s post, but when your mom is as rockin’ as mine….you can’t help it.
