Warning. This post will make you incredibly hungry. I’m sorry, but honestly not even that sorry. HA! If you follow me on snapchat (efog24), then you know a couple weeks ago my blogger besties, Corbin & Laura, came and visited me in Atlanta, and y’all know we had to go to Tupelo Honey! We had brunch at the one in Asheville (see here) and couldn’t wait to dig in at the brand new one in Sandy Springs, which is a suburb of Atlanta! We opted for dinner after our crazy long day and let me tell you…all we wanted were those biscuits and a beer.
We opted to share some small plates, which is definitely the way to go if you’re trying a new restaurant with your gal pals. Splitting everything made it such a fun experience and left us lots of time to gab over some of the most delicious little small plates that were incredible y’all! First up was Crispy Brussels and Pimento Cheese Nachos. Y’ALL….if you know me at all you know I am a pretty picky eater. Seriously, I used to be the girl that ordered chicken fingers and fries literally everywhere we went. So what I am about to say might shock some people, so hold onto your hats ladies and gents. My favorite thing we ate were the crispy Brussel sprouts. They were flavorful and crispy, and that dipping sauce was to die for! The nachos weren’t half bad either! Definitely on the other side of “healthy”, but anything that has yummy tortilla chips & made-from-scratch pimento cheese and I’m a happy camper!
Next round was Honey Chipotle Wings, Watermelon Salad, Southern Seafood Tacos, and SC Pecan Crusted Goat Cheese. You guys….those wings were SPICY goodness!!! Seriously though, I have a pretty good spice tolerance and these babies were kickin’. I’m thinking about figuring out how to recreate them for a tailgate must-haves foodie post because those yummy things should be celebrated. To help combat the spice, order the watermelon salad. I won’t lie, I’m not a huge fan of watermelon…it just doesn’t do much for me, so when Laura wanted to order it I was a little unsure. But y’all, it was so light, refreshing and delish! It had a honey yogurt sauce that was amazing and I loved how the arugula added a much needed kick! YUM.
The goat cheese. Y’ALL. I should preface this with the fact that I have never met a cheese I didn’t fall madly in love with. Seriously. So of course this goat cheese dish was right up my alley, while pecans aren’t really my thing, the bite was seriously yummy and it should definitely be on the list of must-haves when you visit Tupelo!
No girls meal is complete without dessert, especially with these two sweet-tooth loving ladies! We got the Drunken Strawberry Shortcake…y’all, they weren’t kidding when they said drunken! Those berries were definitely soaked in prosecco and after our long day of shooting and galavanting all over Atlanta, we were loving every single one!
If you’re in the Atlanta area, you should definitely hit up the brand new Tupelo Honey Cafe….I’ve heard a rumor that there is bottomless mac & cheese on Thursdays.YES you read that correctly, bottomless mac & cheese. I need to figure out if this is true STAT.
Thank you Tupelo Honey Cafe for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions are my own!
